Alongside Emma’s main portfolio, she is exploring how to record the beauty and power of movement, driven by her love for Capoeira, a Brazilian art form. Emma wants to bring her experiences from Capoeira into her art; she wants her art to celebrate the impressive capabilities of the human body: we are the most adaptive species on the planet and capable of so many things when we put our minds to it.
Her recent solo exhibition presented sculptures that depict the pinnacle of a movement as well as drawings & prints illustrating motion through time. The Capoeira performance on the opening night helped bring the artwork alive. Emma’s aim is to bring the fluid shapes seen in the drawings, into her sculpture, which one can see starting to emerge in photos below.
Prints are available from £35 for prints to £150 for original Drypoint/collograph prints. Please email Emma for information.
