Emma’s sculpture appeals to the senses; her work explores human experience: from how we feel, to how we move, to how we deal with life and the choices we make.

New gallery at Hay-on-Wye

Last week I devlivered some  sculptures to the Lion Street Gallery in Hay-on-Wye for the Hay festival (2 of the pieces sold so have to make some new editions already!).  It is a lovely gallery, owned by a lovely man, in a very intresting little town; I couldn’t believe how many bookshops and little galleries there were in such a small town, in the middle of the countryside- nice to see a quiet place thriving with culture.

The work I took is some you will recognise but with new twists.  I’m really happy with my new cast of a pile of books for Medicine for the soul.  Previously I was using beautiful old books for the base, but then I liked the idea of casting them in white stone, giving this sense of precious books of old as well as playing with people’s peception- are they real or not!
